NOPSEMA issues direction to PTTEP AA

Since June 2018, NOPSEMA has become aware of a number of operational issues involving the Montara venture operated by PTTEP Australasia (Ashmore Cartier) Pty Ltd (PTTEP AA).
On 1 November 2018, PTTEP AA suspended production from the Montara field.
On 14 November 2018, NOPSEMA issued the company a Direction requiring appropriate actions to be taken prior to recommencing production at the Montara field. The Direction will remain in force until the company demonstrates to NOPSEMA's satisfaction that all safety critical equipment and systems required to support production operations at the facility are without risk to the health and safety of workers.
