Statement on incident at North Rankin facility

The following statement is to be attributed to Sue McCarrey, CEO, NOPSEMA:

NOPSEMA has been notified of a fatal incident that occurred at the North Rankin facility operated by Woodside.

We extend our deepest sympathies to the family of the deceased worker and all those present at the facility when the incident occurred.

A team of experienced investigators have been mobilised to attend the scene and a do not disturb notice has been issued to the operator. NOPSEMA is working with other relevant authorities as appropriate.

NOPSEMA cannot comment further on the incident while an investigation is underway.
